Al-Waili earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital, the hospital said.
Alongside his clinical practice, Al-Waili serves as a research scientist with the Al-Waili Charitable Foundation for Science and Trading in Mount Vernon, New York. His professional experience includes work in scientific writing, medical research and contributions to peer-reviewed publications, according to the announcement.
The hospital said Al-Waili is committed to evidence-based, patient-centered care with an emphasis on clear communication, compassionate service and shared decision-making, and works collaboratively with health care teams.
