If you have been raking to the curb and waiting, the city has posted where its leaf crews are. In an update posted Tuesday, Oct. 20, the City of Owosso said Department of Public Works crews "have completed N1, S1 and S2." Crews "will move into N2 and then N3 tomorrow," the city said.

The city also published the full order crews work in, which tells you roughly how long the wait is from here: N1, S1, S2, N2, N3, S3, S4, N4, N5, S5, S6, N6, N7, S7, S8, N8. Three of the 16 sections are done. If your section is N8, you are last.

The city's post does not say which streets fall in which section, and no map is included with the update. That is the one thing a resident most needs, and it is not in the notice.

Leaves are the last curbside collection of the season for yard waste of any kind. The Current reported in September that Owosso's final brush pickup of 2026 began Wednesday, Sept. 30, with crews making a single citywide sweep and no second trip down a street once it had been done. Brush collection does not resume until March 31, 2027.

What happens next: Crews were scheduled to work N2 and then move into N3 on Wednesday, Oct. 21, with S3 and S4 next in the order. The city posts leaf pickup updates on the news page at ci.owosso.mi.us; City Hall is at 301 W. Main Street, (989) 725-0599.
