Perry, Corunna, Owosso host in an eight-game county Monday

Eight games involving Shiawassee County teams are on the schedule Monday night, and five of them are at home. There is no county-vs-county matchup on the slate, so the night splits across soccer and volleyball from Byron to Elsie.

Perry soccer has the best logged record of any county team playing tonight. The Ramblers are 3-2 in games we have logged and host Ithaca at 6:30 p.m. Ovid-Elsie soccer is also 3-2 and travels to Mason for the night's latest start, 7 p.m.

Corunna is doing double duty. The volleyball team, 2-1 in logged games, goes to Goodrich for a 6:15 p.m. start, while the soccer team — also 2-1 — hosts Brandon at 6:30 p.m. at home.

Owosso is home in both sports and enters at 2-2 in each. Brandon visits for volleyball at 6:15 p.m. and Lake Fenton comes in for soccer at 6:30 p.m.

Byron volleyball, 1-2, hosts Genesee Christian at 6:45 p.m. Laingsburg volleyball closes the night at 7 p.m. against Carman-Ainsworth, still looking for a first win in four logged games at 0-4.

The football backlog behind this week remains large. The desk still has no verified final from seven of the eight county football games played Friday, Sept. 25 — including Owosso at Corunna, Durand at Ovid-Elsie, Laingsburg at Pewamo-Westphalia and Mt. Morris at New Lothrop — and Byron's Aug. 28 home opener against Mesick has never been confirmed, which leaves the Eagles' logged record incomplete. We will not publish a score until a school or the score desk confirms it.
