Morrice is taking Halloween donations, but the flyer holds the details

The village posted a donation request for its 2026 Halloween event, with the specifics — what it needs, where to drop it off and by when — locked inside an attached flyer.

The Village of Morrice is collecting donations for Halloween, according to a notice posted to the village website under the heading "Halloween – 2026 – Taking Donations."

That is close to all the notice says. The posting itself carries no text beyond the headline and a "View Flyer" link, so what the village is asking for — candy, cash, supplies — where donations should be dropped off, and whether there is a deadline are all inside an attachment rather than on the page a resident lands on.

The date itself is set. The Current reported in September that the village council, at its Aug. 25 meeting, settled on Oct. 31 for Halloween in Morrice. That is a Saturday this year.

This is the second time this year a Morrice notice has pushed the useful part into an attachment. In August we reported that the village posted new transfer station dump fees telling residents to check the rates before their next trip, with the price list itself available only as a separate file.

The village office is at 401 N. Main Street, PO Box 315, Morrice, MI 48857. The clerk can be reached at [email protected] or (517) 625-4170.

What happens next: Halloween falls on Saturday, Oct. 31. We have asked for the flyer's contents — what the village needs, where to bring it and the cutoff date — and will post them when we have them.
