ArtWalk, Historic Home Tour fill downtown Owosso this weekend

Downtown Owosso carries the weekend. ArtWalk Owosso starts at 4 p.m. Friday downtown, a Historic Home Tour begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, and the Downtown Owosso Farmers Market opens at 9 a.m. Saturday in its usual spot. If you are making one trip into town this weekend, Saturday morning is when two of the three overlap.

The verified calendar does not list ticket prices for the home tour, which houses are on it, or which businesses and artists are taking part in ArtWalk. We have asked and will add those details when we have them.

Friday night is a full county football slate — all 10 teams play. Seven are home: Clio at Owosso, Ortonville Brandon at Corunna, Montrose at Chesaning, LakeVille Memorial at Durand, Mt. Morris at Ovid-Elsie, Birch Run at New Lothrop and Dansville at Morrice. Three travel: Perry at Fowler, Byron at Kingston and Laingsburg at Saranac. Kickoff times are not on the verified schedules, which has been an open question on this desk for two weeks now; check with your school before you leave the house.

Last week set up a few of these. The Current reported Durand beat Chesaning 49-14, Owosso won 24-20 at Lake Fenton, Corunna beat Clio 30-14, and Byron lost 36-8 to Deckerville.

At the libraries, the Children's Library at Owosso Public Library has Model Magic Owls at 9 a.m. both Friday and Saturday, plus Storytime with Miss Natalie at 10:30 a.m. Friday. In Durand, the Reading Room at Durand Memorial Library hosts Switch and Lego Day at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Morrice plays euchre at 5 p.m. Saturday at the SCOA Morrice Center. Two more county teams are out Saturday: Byron volleyball at Carson City-Crystal and Laingsburg soccer at Lansing Christian.
