Both of the county's volleyball matches tonight are road trips. New Lothrop plays at St. Charles at 5:30 p.m., and Laingsburg opens the evening at Stockbridge at 5 p.m.

New Lothrop brings a 6-2 record into St. Charles, computed from the completed games this desk has logged. That is the better of the two county records on tonight's card. Laingsburg is 3-4.

Those records carry a caveat worth stating plainly: they are built only from finals we have actually confirmed. The Current still has no verified volleyball results from the county slates of Oct. 13, Oct. 14, Oct. 20 or Oct. 22, including Chesaning at Byron. Schools owe those scores, and when they arrive the logged records will move.

No county-vs-county match is on the board tonight. Both Hornets and Wolfpack opponents are from outside Shiawassee County, and the dossier does not list records for St. Charles or Stockbridge, so this story doesn't state any.

Laingsburg's 5 p.m. first serve is the earliest start of the night. New Lothrop follows a half hour later.

Tune into our live scoreboard for live scores and updates all game long. Every county score updates live tonight at shiawassee.news/scoreboard, and live scores appear right on the shiawassee.news homepage while games are in progress. It is free, there is no app and there is no paywall.

What happens next: finals from both matches will post to the live scoreboard as they come in, and the desk is still chasing the outstanding volleyball results from earlier in October along with the unconfirmed county football finals from Oct. 23.
