Chesaning council agenda listed $135,494 in bills, M-57 closure ask

The Chesaning Village Council met Aug. 4 with an agenda that put $135,493.98 in accounts payable on its consent agenda, along with the minutes of the council's July 21 regular meeting, according to the agenda posted by the village.

The agenda listed the consent agenda as a single roll-call motion covering "non-controversial items" without discussion. It also states that any board member, staff member or member of the public may ask that an item be pulled from the consent agenda and moved to the regular agenda for discussion, and that "all such requests will be granted." No items were listed under "Receive and File."

Under new business, the agenda listed one item for action: a request from Candle Walk for the closure of M-57 for the Candle Walk event. The agenda did not include further detail on the requested dates or times.

The agenda also listed one item for introduction and discussion: an update on the Vietnam Memorial Wall from Dave Pappenheimer.

The next regular meeting of the Chesaning Village Council is set for Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 7:30 p.m. The agenda notes that people with disabilities who need special assistance to attend should contact the village clerk's office at least two business days in advance, under Public Act 267, the Open Meetings Act.
