Corunna council agenda set data center ordinance first reading July 20

The Corunna City Council's regular meeting agenda for Monday, July 20, 2026, listed three items of business, including first readings of two proposed ordinances. The meeting was scheduled for 7 p.m. at the lower level of the Community Center, 457 Emma Drive, according to the agenda posted by the city.

The first item of business was a first reading of, and setting a public hearing for, Ordinance No. 26-03, described on the agenda as "Data Center." The second was a first reading of, and setting a public hearing for, Ordinance No. 26-04, an amendment to the city's RM ordinance. The agenda does not include the text of either proposed ordinance or a date for the public hearings.

The third item of business was listed as "Consider c2ae Parmenter Road MDOT Construction Amendment." The agenda does not state a dollar figure for the amendment.

The agenda set aside two citizen comment periods, before and after the items of business. Under the council's rules printed on the agenda, each speaker is limited to three minutes, each call to the audience is capped at 15 minutes total, and comments during public hearings must be relevant to the hearing subject.

What happens next

The agenda lists the council's next meeting as Monday, August 3, 2026. The Shiawassee Current has not yet obtained minutes for the July 20 meeting and cannot report how council members voted on the consent agenda or the three items of business; the outcomes and any public hearing dates set for Ordinances 26-03 and 26-04 will be reflected in the city's minutes.
