Corunna council to weigh fire assessment district, budget amendment Aug. 17

The Corunna City Council meets at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, in the lower level of the Community Center at 457 Emma Drive, according to the meeting agenda posted by the city.

Three items appear under items of business. The council is scheduled to consider Budget Amendment 3 to the 2025-2026 budget, a merger of MERS Divisions 2, 10 and 20 into Division 11, and Resolution 081726-01 on a fire special assessment district. The agenda does not include dollar figures or further detail on any of the three items.

The consent agenda lists three resolutions: approval of the minutes of the previous regular meeting held Aug. 3, 2026; approval of vendor disbursements for the period July 24, 2026, through Aug. 6, 2026; and the reappointment of Mike Carr to the SATA board with a term expiring Oct. 1, 2029.

The agenda includes two citizen comment periods, one after roll call and one before adjournment, along with a city manager report and a council roundtable. Under the city's rules for addressing the council printed on the agenda, each member of the public is limited to three minutes per call to the audience, and each call to the audience session is limited to 15 minutes total.
