Corunna council agenda set data center ordinance hearing for Aug. 3

The Corunna City Council's agenda for its regular meeting on Monday, Aug. 3, listed two public hearings and five items of business, according to the agenda posted by the city. The meeting was set for 7 p.m. in the lower level of the Community Center at 457 Emma Drive.
The agenda scheduled a public hearing at 7:02 p.m. on Ordinance No. 26-03, identified as "Data Center," and a second public hearing at 7:04 p.m. on Ordinance No. 26-04, described as an amendment to the RM ordinance. Both ordinances then appeared as the first two items of business for council consideration.
Three other items of business were listed: a quote for a 320P backhoe, Resolution 080326-01 covering an agreement with the Michigan Department of Transportation and the assignment of an authorized signer, and the 2026-2027 SATA funding request "with Vetern Adjustment," as written in the agenda.
The consent agenda contained three resolutions: approval of the minutes of the July 20, 2026 regular meeting, approval of vendor disbursements for the period of July 10 through July 23, 2026, and the appointment of Lawrence Norman to the Shiawassee Council on Aging for a term expiring Dec. 31, 2026. The agenda did not list dollar figures for the disbursements or the backhoe quote.
The agenda also set out the city's rules for addressing the council. Each member of the public is limited to three minutes at each call to the audience, each call to the audience session is capped at 15 minutes, and comments during public hearings must be relevant to the hearing subject.
Six items were listed under communications: Argus Press articles, c2ae progress reports, a charter amendment letter of approval, and minutes from the Airport Board meeting of July 9, the Ambulance Board meeting of July 16, and the Community District Library meeting of July 22.

The agenda lists the council's next meeting as Monday, Aug. 17. The agenda does not record how the council voted on any item; outcomes on the two ordinances, the backhoe quote, the MDOT resolution and the SATA funding request will be reflected in the minutes of the Aug. 3 meeting, which are scheduled for approval at a future regular meeting.
