Ovid-Elsie facilities committee interviews GMB, Kingscott for architect work
Two of three committee members met Aug. 11 in the high school student lounge for back-to-back architectural services interviews that ran just over two hours.
The Ovid-Elsie Area Schools Board of Education Facilities Committee interviewed two architecture firms at a meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 11, according to minutes posted by the district.
The committee conducted architectural services interviews with GMB and Kingscott, the minutes state. After the presentations, the committee "reviewed and discussed the presentations and responses provided by each firm." A separate discussion item covered the interviews and related information presented during the meeting.
The meeting was held at 6 p.m. in the High School Student Lounge and was called to order by Brooke Wooley, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Wooley and Kevin Nash were present. Josh Miller was absent. Katie Kusnier, Cody Staley and Mark Horak also attended.
There was no public comment. The minutes list no written correspondence, no communications from Ovid-Elsie personnel and no communications from the public.
The minutes record no vote or recommendation on either firm. The meeting adjourned at 8:04 p.m. The minutes were submitted by Mark Horak and signed by board secretary Becky Williams.
What happens next
The full Ovid-Elsie board was scheduled to take up the selection of a construction manager and architect at its Aug. 19 meeting in Elsie. The Aug. 11 committee minutes do not say which firm, if either, the committee favored.
