Ovid-Elsie facilities committee interviews Clark, Christman for construction management
Two of the three committee members met for nearly three hours Aug. 10 to hear presentations from two construction management firms, according to minutes posted by Ovid-Elsie Area Schools.
The Ovid-Elsie Area Schools Board of Education facilities committee interviewed two construction management firms at a meeting Monday, Aug. 10, in the high school student lounge, according to minutes posted by the district.
The minutes list the two firms as Clark Construction and The Christman Company. "The Committee reviewed and discussed the presentations and responses provided by each firm," the minutes state.
Committee member Brooke Wooley called the meeting to order at 6 p.m., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Wooley and Kevin Nash were present. Josh Miller was absent. Also in attendance were Katie Kusnier, Cody Staley and Mark Horak, according to the minutes.
There was no public comment. The minutes record no written correspondence, no communications from Ovid-Elsie personnel and no communications from the public.
Following the interviews, the committee "discussed the construction management interviews and related information presented during the meeting," according to the minutes. The document records no vote, recommendation or selection of a firm.
The meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m., a session of two hours and 40 minutes. The minutes were signed by Becky Williams, secretary, and submitted by Mark Horak.
What happens next
The minutes do not list a date for further action or a next committee meeting. The Shiawassee Current will report the committee's recommendation and any board action on a construction management firm when those records are posted.
