Ovid-Elsie facilities panel shortlists Christman, Clark for construction management
Minutes from the Aug. 3 committee meeting show four construction management firms and three architecture firms submitted qualifications, with two of each picked for interviews.
The Ovid-Elsie Area Schools Board of Education Facilities Committee reviewed submitted requests for qualifications and set an interview slate at its Monday, Aug. 3 meeting in the district Administration Office, according to minutes posted by the district.
The minutes list four firms that submitted for construction management: Christman, Clark Construction, Triangle and Wieland. Three firms submitted for architectural services: GMB, Kingscott and THA.
Under "Interview Selection," the committee listed Christman and Clark Construction for construction management interviews on Monday, Aug. 10, and GMB and Kingscott for architectural services interviews on Tuesday, Aug. 11.
The committee also reviewed recommended questions for both the construction management and architectural services interviews, the minutes state. No further detail on those questions appears in the document.
Committee members Kevin Nash and Brooke Wooley were present. Josh Miller was absent. Also in attendance were Mark Horak, Kaitlyn Kusnier and Cody Staley.
There was no public communication at the meeting. The minutes record no written correspondence, no comment from Ovid-Elsie personnel and no communications from the public.
Wooley called the meeting to order at 6:45 p.m., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance, according to the minutes, which list the scheduled start time as 6 p.m. Nash moved to adjourn at 6:45 p.m., supported by Wooley, and the motion passed unanimously. The minutes were submitted by Wooley and signed by Becky Williams, secretary.
What happens next
The interview dates set in the minutes — Aug. 10 for construction management and Aug. 11 for architectural services — have now passed. The committee's recommendations from those interviews would go before the full Board of Education.
