Ovid-Elsie finance committee backed budget plans ahead of June 15 vote

The Ovid-Elsie Area Schools Board of Education Finance Committee met Wednesday, June 10, at 5 p.m. in the High School Student Lounge and agreed unanimously to send the district's budget documents to the full board, according to minutes posted by the district.

Superintendent Mark Horak called the meeting to order at 5:04 p.m., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Committee members Mary Thompson and Josh Miller were present. Member David Huff was absent. Horak and Kaite Kusnier also attended, the minutes state.

The committee reviewed budgets for both the General Fund and Food Service Operations. For the final budget revision for 2025-2026, the minutes note that "Katie explained changes in final budget." The committee then agreed unanimously to recommend the final budget revisions for 2025-2026 and the proposed budget to the full board at the June 15, 2026, regular board meeting. No items were recorded under "Other Matters." Thompson moved to adjourn with support from Miller, and the motion passed unanimously. The minutes were submitted by Horak and signed by secretary Becky Williams.
