Owosso volleyball hosts Clio in county's only home game Monday
Six Shiawassee County teams are in action Monday night, and five of them are on the road — Owosso's 6:15 p.m. volleyball match with Clio is the lone home date.
Monday night is a road night in Shiawassee County. Of the six games on the county schedule, only one is at home: Owosso volleyball hosts Clio at 6:15 p.m. The Trojans come in 1-1 in games this desk has logged.
Owosso is the county's busiest program tonight. While the volleyball team is in the gym, Owosso soccer travels to Fenton for a 6:30 p.m. start, also carrying a 1-1 record.
The night opens early in Ithaca. Laingsburg volleyball plays there at 5:30 p.m. at 0-3, and Ovid-Elsie soccer follows at the same school at 6 p.m. at 1-2. Perry soccer is at Lansing Christian at 6 p.m. with the best record on the board tonight at 2-1, and Corunna volleyball plays at Brandon at 6:15 p.m. at 1-1.
Records here come only from games this desk has confirmed and logged, which is why some lines look thinner than a team's actual season. Laingsburg's 0-3 volleyball mark, for example, does not include Friday's match at Williamston — that final still has not come back, along with three Laingsburg soccer results from Sept. 12, at Kettering, at Fowlerville and at Swartz Creek.
Laingsburg is not the only gap. Six football finals from Friday, Sept. 11 remain unreported, as does the Sept. 12 Morrice football game at Portland St. Patrick, which The Current previewed but has not been able to score. Byron's Aug. 28 home football opener against Mesick has never been confirmed either, more than two weeks later, leaving the Eagles without a logged won-loss line. Schools and the score desk owe all of them, and we will publish each one as it is verified.
Tune into our live scoreboard for live scores and updates all game long. Every county score updates live tonight at shiawassee.news/scoreboard, and live scores appear right on the shiawassee.news homepage while games are in progress. It is free, there is no app and there is no paywall.
What happens next: finals from all six Monday games will post to the scoreboard as they come in, and the desk is still chasing the outstanding Laingsburg, Morrice and Byron results along with the Sept. 11 football backlog.
