Owosso hosts Goodrich volleyball in a six-game county Wednesday

Six county teams are in action tonight, and the busiest address is Owosso. The Owosso volleyball team, 2-1 in games we have logged, hosts Goodrich at 6:15 p.m., while the Owosso soccer team — also 2-1 — travels to Linden for a 6:30 p.m. start.

Everything else on the board is volleyball. Morrice opens the night early on the road at Merrill at 5:30 p.m., carrying a 1-2 logged record. Lake Fenton visits Corunna at 6:15 p.m., with the Cavaliers at 1-1. At 7 p.m., Laingsburg plays at Potterville and Bath plays at Perry.

Those last two matches sit at opposite ends of the logged standings. Perry is 2-2. Laingsburg is 0-4 and still looking for a first win in games this desk has recorded.

There is no county-versus-county matchup tonight, which makes this a quieter Wednesday than the nine-game Tuesday slate the county just played. Records here are computed only from completed games we have logged, so they may run behind a school's official mark.

That gap is our own open business. The desk still does not have final scores from the nine games played Tuesday, Sept. 22, including Ovid-Elsie at Chesaning and Birch Run at Byron, and it still does not have confirmed finals from any of the 10 county football games played Friday, Sept. 18. Byron's Aug. 28 home football opener against Mesick also remains unconfirmed. Schools and the score desk are the sources for all of it.
