Durand 49, Chesaning 14; Owosso wins 24-20 at Lake Fenton

Durand beat Chesaning 49-14 at home Friday night, Sept. 11, in the only game on the county schedule between two teams we cover. Chesaning came in 1-0 and left 1-1. Durand came in 1-1 and is now 2-1.

Owosso got its first win of the season the same night, holding on 24-20 at Lake Fenton. The Trojans opened the year 0-1 and are now 1-1. It was the closest county result of the evening by a single point of margin over New Lothrop's loss.

Corunna's win at Clio moved the Cavaliers to 1-1 after an 0-1 start. The Current's verified 2026 schedule has Corunna hosting Owosso on Sept. 25, a game that now sits between two teams that both won Friday.

Ovid-Elsie picked up its first win of the year, 49-28 at LakeVille Memorial. The Marauders had opened 0-2 and are now 1-2. New Lothrop's unbeaten start ended by two points: Montrose 35, New Lothrop 33. New Lothrop entered 2-0 and is now 2-1.

Perry's 2-0 start also ended, in the night's widest result — Pewamo-Westphalia 61, Perry 6 — leaving the Ramblers 2-1. Laingsburg was shut out 42-0 at Fowler and is 0-3.
