Clio at Owosso tops a full 10-game county football Friday

All ten of the county's football teams are on the field tonight, Friday, Sept. 18, and every one of them kicks off at 7 p.m. Seven are home. None are playing each other.

The biggest gate is in Owosso, where Clio visits a Trojans team sitting at 1-1. The Current reported Owosso's 24-20 win at Lake Fenton earlier this month.

Two county teams carry 2-1 records into tonight. Durand, which beat Chesaning 49-14 in our last reported result, hosts LakeVille Memorial. New Lothrop hosts Birch Run. Perry, also 2-1, is the only one of the three on the road, at Fowler.

Elsewhere at home: Ortonville Brandon at Corunna (1-1), Montrose at Chesaning (1-1), Mt. Morris at Ovid-Elsie (1-2) and Dansville at Morrice (1-1). On the road, Byron goes to Kingston and Laingsburg travels to Saranac at 0-3.

Byron's record is listed at 0-1, and that number still has a hole in it. The Eagles' 8-player home opener against Mesick on Aug. 28 has never been confirmed to this desk, so the only Byron game on our books is the 36-8 loss to Deckerville. The school and the score desk still owe that final, three weeks on.
